We are looking for a hands-on System Commissioning Engineer whose main role is to perform on-site commissioning at customer facilities.
This is a field-based role with extensive travel across Europe (approx. 50-60%), with trips typically lasting 5 to 15 days. When not on site, the role can be performed remotely;
candidates based in Barcelona may also work from the office if desired.
Your role
* Perform on-site system commissioning and start-up of automated solutions at customer locations across Europe.
* Execute functional, performance, FAT and SAT tests to ensure systems meet specifications.
* Identify, analyse and troubleshoot technical issues during commissioning and implement corrective actions.
* Coordinate closely with project managers, engineering teams and customers during commissioning phases.
* Prepare commissioning documentation, reports and support final system handover to the client.
* Train customers on system operation and basic maintenance.
* Ensure all activities comply with safety and EHS standards.
What we are looking for
* Engineering background (Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or similar).
* Proven experience as a commissioning / start-up engineer in automation environments.
* AGV/AMR knowledge or experience is highly valued.
* PLC knowledge required (programming experience is a plus).
* Ability to work autonomously on customer sites.
* Strong customer-oriented mindset and communication skills.
* Fluent English required;
additional languages are a plus.
* Willingness to travel extensively across Europe.
* Candidates can be based anywhere in Spain, provided they have access to an international airport.
