Job Description
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining MultiSafepay's data infrastructure. Your primary focus will be ensuring that high-quality, scalable, and well-structured data is available to various teams within the organization. You will play a crucial role in optimizing data processes, managing databases, and setting up efficient data pipelines for seamless data accessibility.
What will you be doing?
1. Set up, maintain, and optimize databases, data warehouses, and ElasticSearch indexes
2. Design and implement scalable data pipelines for collecting, transforming, and storing data
3. Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry standards
4. Automate data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes
5. Work closely with data analysts, ensuring they have well-structured and accurate data for reporting
6. Monitor and optimize database performance, resolving bottlenecks and inefficiencies
7. Manage job queues using Mojolicious' Minion
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Finance, Product, Marketing, and Compliance to understand data needs
Job requirements
1. Proven experience in data engineering or related fields
2. Strong knowledge of ElasticSearch 7/8 and PostgreSQL 16
3. Experience with Perl 5 is a plus
4. Proficiency in Java and Apache POI for handling structured data (optional but beneficial)
5. Experience with Apache FOP is a plus
6. Strong understanding of ETL processes and data pipeline architecture
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to optimize data performance
8. Proficiency in English, with strong communication skills
