Operational Excellence Specialist
As an Operational Excellence Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating the Biomat area and leading continuous improvement initiatives across multiple functional areas within the framework of Project Lliçà.
Role Mission
Lead and drive operational excellence, process optimization, waste elimination, and standardization to enhance performance and business value.
Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate Biomat workstreams related to the implementation of the new Plasma Logistics Center (PLC).
* Plan, organize, and monitor project activities, ensuring alignment of timelines, milestones, deliverables, resources, and dependencies.
* Coordinate cross‑functional teams and stakeholders, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
* Drive process improvement, standardization, digitalization, and operational excellence initiatives.
* Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and ensure appropriate mitigation and follow‑up actions.
* Prepare and communicate project status updates, KPIs, governance materials, and executive reports to support decision‑making.
* Ensure compliance with GxP requirements, quality standards, and regulatory expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
* Support change management and project portfolio initiatives to promote successful implementation and sustainable adoption of new processes.
* Facilitate collaboration between cross‑functional teams and drive alignment, accountability, and execution discipline.
* Manage and/or contribute to other projects within the Biomat project portfolio, ensuring alignment with business priorities and quality requirements.
* Contribute to the development of the Operational Excellence strategy and support broader business transformation initiatives.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Advanced level of English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
* 3 to 5 years of experience in Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, PMO, Project Management, similar roles in industrial or regulated environments.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools; knowledge of Power BI, Minitab, Tableau, MS Project, Smartsheet, and similar analytical tools is a plus.
* Proven experience leading cross‑functional projects, process improvement initiatives, and organizational transformation programs.
* Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement methodologies, and project management principles.
* Experience in project planning, coordination, governance, risk management, and stakeholder management.
* Knowledge of GMP/GxP regulated environments is a plus.
* Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Project Management, or PMO certifications are a plus.
* Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and influence stakeholders at different organizational levels.
What we offer
Flexible schedule: Monday‑Thursday 8:00 h – 17:00 h and Friday 8:00 – 15:00 h (with the same flexible start time).
Contract of Employment: Permanent position.
Flexibility for U Program: Remote working.
