Overview Description
Primary Learning Assistant Role Profile. We provide an enriching education of the highest standard which allows our pupils to achieve success and experience failure in a safe and supportive environment. Responsible to: Key Stage Coordinators, Head of Primary, Head of School.

Key Responsibilities To work as part of Lady Elizabeth School, providing quality care and education as defined by the School, its policies and ethos.
Work closely with the class teacher(s) to promote excellent learning including reporting on pupil performance and assisting in recording children’s progress by updating relevant records.
Work closely with the class teacher(s) to contribute to the management of pupil behaviour, including the implementation of the School’s behaviour policies.
Assist in preparing classroom and teaching resources and the maintenance of these resources within the classroom areas.
Establish and promote productive relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations, promoting the inclusion of all pupils within the School.
Establish constructive relationships and good communication with colleagues to support pupils’ learning and progress.
Establish good relationships with parents and carers.
Ensure the health, safety and welfare of pupils at all times by modelling a positive approach and adhering to safeguarding practices.
Sharing in supervisory duties, including lunchtime and break, and dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies in accordance with the school’s policies and procedures.
Participate in appropriate school-based meetings and training activities including after hours, if necessary.
Take an active part in appraising own work against agreed priorities and targets in accordance with the school’s TLSE and supervision arrangements.
Maintain confidentiality at all times and observe Data Protection Guidelines.
Promote and safeguard the welfare of all the children at our School.
Embrace any other duties within the nature of the post, including working in or out of the classroom.
To have a relevant first aid qualification or be willing to attend training.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience Experience and qualifications:
Successful experience of working with children in a school setting.
Maths and English GCSE or equivalent at grade C or above (or equivalent).
Certified teaching assistant course.
Degree (desirable).
Skills and Knowledge
Ability to motivate children of differing abilities.
Knowledge of the National Curriculum.
Knowledge of effective teaching and learning strategies.
Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively.
Personal attributes
Enthusiasm and a passion for learning.
A commitment to getting the best outcomes for all staff, pupils and parents and promoting the ethos and values of the school.
An approachable manner and excellent interpersonal skills.
