Job Summary
Hyperion Materials & Technologies is looking for a Lean Engineer to enhance the Continuous Improvement and Lean Processes in the Barcelona Production Unit. We seek a dynamic individual eager to transform processes within our facility and lead change. This role involves close collaboration with all departments and the Business Unit Continuous Improvement team. You will join a young team that utilizes Lean methodologies to improve manufacturing and information processes, increasing customer satisfaction and operational efficiency by eliminating waste (muda).
Main Responsibilities
* Support the Lean Manager on the Continuous Improvement Savings (CIS) program.
* Generate new ideas for the Lean Funnel and CIS program.
* Lead Lean Projects such as Value Stream Map Projects.
* Assist the Lean Manager in leading the Kaizen Process and Kaizen Funnel of the Production Unit.
* Help develop the Daily Management Process.
* Own the Lean Processes in the Production Unit.
* Facilitate Kaizen Events using Lean Tools like SMED, 6S, Standard Work, or VSM.
* Manage deliverables for Kaizen Events (Pre-work, Guide, Report Out).
* Lead Six Sigma and standardization projects.
* Drive Problem Solving activities with tools like 5Whys, Ishikawa, TPI, VRP, or Noise to Constant.
* Create educational materials and provide training on Lean and continuous improvement.
* Lead process improvement activities on the manufacturing floor.
* Apply Lean concepts and tools in work functions.
* Act as a change agent.
Ideal Employee Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operational Management, or related field.
* 2-3 years of experience in Lean Manufacturing or similar roles.
* Experience leading projects, particularly in Lean or Continuous Improvement.
* Knowledge of Daily Management and Kaizen processes.
* Strong Lean Methods expertise (6S, SMED, VSM, TPM, 3P, Kanban, Standard Work).
* Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes.
* Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
* Proven project management and documentation skills.
* Problem-solving skills using tools like 5Whys, Ishikawa, Noise to Constant.
* Strong prioritization, facilitation, and team-building skills.
* Fluent in English.
* Proficiency in PC skills, CAD (AutoCAD+), Microsoft Office, Minitab.
* Self-starter, motivated, with technical and project management competencies.
* Willing to travel up to 10% of the time.
