About the Program
Gain first-hand insight into world of investment banking and hands-on professional experience through an immersive program at one of the world’s leading banks.
What you will be doing
As a Santander CIB Summer in Global Markets you will support the execution and monitoring of transactions and projects related to the main areas and sub products of Global Markets including:
1. Trading:
Price and execute trades across asset classes such as interest rates, FX, credit, and equity derivatives.
Monitor and analyze market movements, spotting opportunities and managing risk in real time.
Collaborate with sales colleagues to design trading strategies that meet client needs.
Learn how to use advanced quantitative models, data tools, and technology platforms to support trading decisions.
2. Sales:
Build strong relationships with leading institutional and corporate clients across Europe.
Deliver tailored insights, ideas, and financial solutions to support client strategies.
Work closely with trading, structuring, and research teams to provide comprehensive client coverage.
Take part in client meetings, prepare presentations, and contribute to the execution of real transactions.
3. Structuring:
Design bespoke financial solutions that meet complex client needs by combining different products (e.g. derivatives, financing, securitization).
Translate market trends, regulation, and technical insights into innovative products and strategies.
Collaborate with Sales, Trading, and Quants to bring deals from idea to execution.
Build financial models and tools to price, structure, and monitor transactions.
Prepare high-quality pitch materials and presentations to support client discussions.
4. Quants:
Develop, implement, and maintain the models and tools that underpin our trading and risk management.
Improve pricing libraries and build new quantitative models for complex products.
Work side by side with traders and structurers to make sure models meet business needs.
Apply programming, mathematics, and analytical skills to real market challenges.
5. Research & Strategy:
Provide in-depth market analysis and insights on macroeconomics, equities, credit, rates, and FX to support clients and internal teams.
Monitor global economic, political, and financial trends to identify opportunities and risks.
Produce high-quality reports, presentations, and recommendations that influence investment and trading decisions.
Work closely with Sales and Trading teams to deliver timely analysis that helps clients make informed decisions.
Develop expertise in data analysis, forecasting, and financial modelling to back your research.

We are looking for
6. Students ready to start the summer program in June and finish their studies in summer (going into your final year at university after the internship).
7. The ability to be open and collaborative in a multicultural environment.
8. High proficiency in English (any other languages is a plus).
9. Mathematical foundation and programming skills.
10. Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
11. Availability for a full-time summer internship from June .
