Consequently, we are seeking an energetic and highly skilled Service Instructor – Sommelier to join our permanent team. In this role, you aren’t just serving; instead, you will actively educate, train, and inspire our students while managing our premium wine operations.
Job Description: Service Instructor – SommelierYour Mission: Student Mentorship & Beverage OperationsYour primary goal involves actively educating and training students through practical, hands‑on classes. Therefore, you will transmit the essential knowledge, values, and techniques required for their professional futures. Specifically, you will combine this academic mission with beverage management by driving wine sales, managing inventory, and crafting exceptional guest experiences on campus.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Practical Teaching: Assist in teaching according to the syllabus for each group. You will guide students in large-volume service and enforce procedures regarding behavior and attendance.
- Wine Program Management: Create and update wine lists in collaboration with the Head Sommelier and Manager. Furthermore, you will organize exclusive wine‑tasting events.
- Commercial Drive: Actively drive sales by recommending wine varieties to guests. You will supervise wine service and collaborate with winemakers to renew selections.
- Operations & Quality Control: Set up outlets according to strict institutional criteria. In addition, you will follow ordering protocols and ensure the wine cellar remains fully stocked.
- Compliance & HACCP: Implement HACCP food safety standards and product control metrics across your assigned sections.
- Evaluation & Feedback: Work collaboratively with fellow instructors. Consequently, you will provide consistent feedback regarding student evolution and progress.
Who You Are
- The Wine Expert: You bring a minimum of 2–3 years of experience as a Sommelier, wine steward, or luxury hospitality professional.
- Oenology Specialist: You possess strong oenology skills, an extensive knowledge of global wine regions, and familiarity with local Spanish vineyards.
- Certified: You hold a valid Food Handling Certificate. A formal sommelier certification or a hospitality degree is highly beneficial.
- The Communicator: You have excellent time management and communication skills. Specifically, a high level of English is essential; fluency in Spanish is a distinct advantage.
- Adaptable Operator: You are a team player with basic computer literacy. You maintain the flexibility to work varying schedules, days, and hours to meet operational needs.
