**As an International Business Consultant**at Innovation Norway’s Madrid office, you will be part of a team working to support Norwegian businesses enter and grow in the Spanish market. Our focus areas are energy, green maritime, seafood and aquaculture. Activities also include agri-tech, circular economy, smart city/societies technologies, health-tech and sustainable tourism.
**Responsibilities**:
- Identify and promote opportunities for business development and cooperation for Norwegian companies in Spain
- Act as a sparring partner for Norwegian companies and stakeholders in their targeting of market opportunities in Spain
- Provide market information, networks and business development support to individual and group clients
- Continuous market intelligence in relevant sectors and segments
- Conduct and publish market updates and contribute to webinars, events and meetings
- Organize and accompany visits and delegations to relevant events and organizations
- Ensure proactive liaison and coordination with Innovation Norway colleagues and Team Norway in Spain
**You will be part of our team**working to support Norwegian businesses in entering and growing their position in the Spanish and European market. In addition to Innovation Norway colleagues in Madrid and Norway, you will work in close collaboration with Team Norway Spain, most notably the Norwegian Embassy, the Spanish-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce, the Norwegian Seafood Council and relevant Norwegian clusters and competence centres.
**Essential Criteria**:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree level qualification or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Minimum three years of experience from a comparable position
- Proven track record within consulting, business development, export promotion or similar
- Broad knowledge of Spanish business and politics
- Knowledge and active business networks in one or more of the relevant sectors for the office in Spain
- Commercial mindset, and passion for sales and business development
- Good understanding of and experience with use of digital office tools (Teams, SharePoint, CRM etc.).
- Fluent English and Spanish
- Strong communication and facilitation skills
Knowledge of Norwegian business culture and industry, as well as one of the Norwegian languages is an advantage, but no prerequisite.
**Essential personal traits**are service orientation, collaborative, structured, proactive and result driven.
