Summary / Role Purpose
The Senior R&D Engineer will contribute to designing, developing, testing, and deploying modern web-based applications leveraging Ansys Structures technology. This role requires advanced technical and problem-solving skills to address complex issues, meet customer requirements, and achieve development goals. The engineer will work collaboratively to expose backend services through intuitive web applications, adhering to best practices for robust and secure software development.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Participate in planning, architecture, and research activities.
2. Perform complex development tasks, including user experience, software design, and solver research.
3. Maintain best practices through technical reviews and mentoring.
4. Conduct bug verification, release testing, and beta support for products.
5. Research issues identified by QA or support teams and develop solutions.
6. Understand marketing requirements, target environment, performance criteria, and competitive landscape.
7. Collaborate with strategic customers or proxies to assess needs and develop solutions.
8. Work independently with minimal supervision;
may mentor or manage interns/co-ops.
Minimum Education/Certification & Experience
MS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 3 years’ experience, or PhD with 1 year experience. Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, client-server architecture, Web APIs (REST, gRPC, WebSocket). Experience with software design methodologies, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
* Experience with web frameworks (Angular, React).
* Handling large data sets for visualization (2D/3D).
* Designing and developing Web APIs.
* Experience with DevOps tools and CI pipelines.
* Deploying and maintaining customer-facing web applications.
