What You'll Do


The Global People Operations and Background Checks Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring a smooth onboarding experience for new hires while maintaining compliance with employment regulations. This role manages Global People Operations functions—focusing on onboarding—and oversees background check processes to support hiring and compliance needs. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about creating seamless employee experiences.


People Operations


1. Own and manage the onboarding process, ensuring all new hires have a seamless experience from offer acceptance to their first day.
2. Conduct new hire orientations, providing employees with necessary resources and information.
3. Ensure all new hires have the legal right to work and have completed required documentation before their start date.
4. Save all documents, employment contracts, IDs, and legally required documents in the HRIS (e.g., Workday).
5. Collaborate with People Business Partners (PBPs), IT, and hiring managers to facilitate onboarding.
6. Support offboarding processes, including compliance with local labor laws and coordination with PBPs and Legal.
7. Ensure accuracy in new hire data entry and conduct quarterly audits.
8. Provide administrative support for HR projects and processes.
9. Assist with compliance and labor law requirements, aligning HR policies with global and local standards.
10. Partner with Legal, IT, and HR Tech to maintain HR systems and ensure data privacy compliance.
11. Prepare and submit compliance reports to government agencies as needed.


Background Checks


1. Manage and coordinate background check processes for new hires, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
2. Liaise with background check vendors for timely screenings.
3. Review background check results and escalate discrepancies or concerns to relevant stakeholders (ER, Talent Acquisition, Legal).
4. Maintain and organize background check records for compliance.
5. Refine and improve background check policies based on best practices and legal requirements.
6. Guide hiring managers and stakeholders on background check policies and procedures.


What We're Looking For


1. 2+ years of experience in HR, People Operations, or a related field.
2. At least 1+ year of experience in Background Checks.
3. Experience handling onboarding and employment documentation.
4. Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skills.
5. Basic understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with HRIS systems (Workday preferred).
8. Excellent communication skills and a customer service mindset.
9. Fluency in English and Spanish.
