Safety Specialist, Health and Safety M/F

In this role, you’ll implement vital safety measures to ensure everyone at your location works in a safe and healthy environment. This is a hands-on opportunity to make a daily difference by proactively keeping staff safe, empowering them to feel confident and motivated in their roles.
Key job responsibilities
1. Monitor site performance against KPIs and develop plans to improve safety processes
2. Establish workplace health and safety programs and coordinate training sessions
3. Analyze safety metrics and incident trends to allocate appropriate resources to high-risk areas
4. Conduct audits to ensure compliance with health and safety laws and implement risk mitigation solutions
A day in the life
You will be based on-site at one of our facilities, such as fulfilment centers, sortation centers, or delivery stations. Being on-site allows you to closely monitor processes, ensure safety compliance, identify potential issues, and seek opportunities for improvement. You will collaborate with various teams to understand risks, gather data, and develop safer work practices. Additionally, you will organize training and programs to promote safety standards.
About the team
The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) team ensures the mental and physical well-being of our employees. We work with managers, associates, and local authorities to comply with Amazon policies and legal regulations, maintaining a safe workplace environment. Opportunities within the team range from Health and Safety Technicians to Program Managers, all contributing to our high safety standards through various projects involving equipment inspections, process assessments, and safety improvements.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910
* Experience in workplace health & safety (WHS)
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word
* Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding security and personnel issues
* Technical qualification in Risk Prevention according to Spanish regulations
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in line with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF)
* Understanding of Spanish EHS legislation
* Fluent in (local language) and English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience in emergency response
* Experience in workers' compensation case management
* Knowledge of Lean, 5S, or Kaizen methodologies
* Experience managing environmentally conscious initiatives
