Pastry Sous Chef at Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca. Join our Culinary Team.

Responsibilities
* Develop new recipes and innovate desserts to enhance the hotel menu and engage customers.
* Decorate pastries with various icings to ensure beautiful presentations.
* Assist the Executive Pastry Chef with administrative duties, including scheduling and general team administration.
* Inventory management: monitor and order ingredients and supplies for the pastry section.
* Health and safety compliance: ensure the pastry section adheres to health and safety regulations.
* Collaborate with the Executive Pastry Chef and other kitchen staff to ensure product quality.
Qualifications
* Culinary School/University Degree with at least 2–3 years’ experience as a pastry chef, ideally in luxury hospitality.
* Baking techniques: master the fundamentals of baking.
* Flavor combinations: balance and create innovative pastries.
* Patisserie expertise: variety of pastries, desserts, breads, and baked goods.
* Chocolate sculpting & sugar artistry: crafting intricate designs using chocolate and sugar.
* Food safety (HACCP): maintain a clean, sanitary work environment and adhere to standards.
* Menu development: create menu items in collaboration with the Executive Pastry Chef.
* Plating desserts: design and present desserts aesthetically.
