We are seeking an experienced Safety Engineer to join our Safety Engineering team supporting International Operations. This role involves ensuring high safety standards across Fulfillment Centers, Sort Centers, and Delivery Stations outside North America. The successful candidate will validate vendor safety solutions, collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams, and ensure compliance with safety standards, especially regarding EU machinery safety regulations and automation systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Define and update technical standards for machinery safety and process controls in collaboration with EU and North American experts.
* Work closely with Engineering, Reliability, Maintenance, Procurement, and Operations teams to ensure safety compliance in project execution.
* Support capital procurement, design, and launch processes to achieve right-first-time safety outcomes.
* Perform machinery inspections, risk assessments, and mentor team members.
* Develop safety solutions that meet Amazon's standards for safety, risk reduction, efficiency, and operational excellence.
* Provide training and awareness programs on machinery safety and risk reduction.
* Generate technical updates and reports on ongoing projects, risks, and improvements.
* Influence safety practices and support change management within international operations.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
* Experience in compliance, legal, governance, audit, or risk management.
* Experience handling confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications
* Professional auditing or risk / compliance credentials.
* Experience with SQL and Excel.
* Experience in data-driven program requirements and metrics.
