About the team you are joining Reportingto the Regional Head, External Affairs and Sustainability, Europe, theincumbent will be responsible to manage and coordinate regional environmentaland sustainability advocacy activities. The incumbent will also be required toadvocate to the national Government and Regulatory Authorities for key industrypositions, such as regulatory and policy developments, industry taxation, slots,and infrastructure improvements.
What your day would be like PromoteIATA's policies, positions, objectives, activities, services and productsamongst airlines, governments, regional organizations, and other industrystakeholders;
Provideguidance on policy development and tactical Environmental Sustainabilityrecommendations. This includes monitoring and reporting on legislativeinitiatives in the region as appropriate;
Playinga leading role on evaluation of regional developments in environmentalsustainability, and review of regulatory initiatives requiring advocacy;
Supportthe development and management of IATA's sustainability initiatives at theregional level to advance the development of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF),and industry efforts related to cabin waste, single use plastics (SUP), andsustainable tourism;
Actas the regional office's liaison between IATA central and country offices onenvironmental sustainability matters, sharing expertise, providing support andguidance as necessary to fulfil the industry's environmental sustainabilityagenda at the regional level;
Managethe development of economic analysis for advocacy purposes, interpret potentialimplications related to regulatory efforts, develop strategic responsiveactions and provide support in the advancement of industry advocacyinitiatives;
RepresentEAS Europe internally and externally when requested on matters related toenvironmental sustainability;
Prepareand deliver appropriate messaging for presentations and other industrycommunications;
Collaboratewith colleagues from the division and other internal teams and support otherstrategic priorities in IATA;
Provideguidance and support alongside various stakeholders, to Country Managers andother employees in the region in order to achieve the regional targets set inthe country action plans;
Providetimely reports to the Regional Head External Affairs and Sustainability,Europe, regarding progress of work and achievement of set objectives;
Attendmeetings and conferences with industry stakeholders and organize meetings asappropriate;
Anyother duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by theRegional Head External Affairs and Sustainability, Europe.
We would love to hear from you if you have Minimum6 years of working experience in an aviation related field with at least 3years of experience in sustainability or any other related areas;
Strongknowledge and experience in networking with stakeholders, governments,institutions and aviation as well as economic matters related to the aviationindustry;
Excellentinterpersonal skills, and the ability to influence people in a multi-culturalenvironment;
Aproactive approach with a hands-on attitude and a strategic thinking mindset;
Strongcommunication skills, relationship management, well-developed negotiation andlobbying skills;
Soundknowledge of information technology systems and their applications;
Availabilityto travel regularly;
Fluency of written and spoken English is required, proficiency of any other language spokenin the Region will be an asset.
