Character Modeler
You will be creating complex 3D models of characters for movies.Responsibilities:
Start with a scanned mesh from a life sculpture to create models for production.Model secondary characters based on concepts and art provided by the Art department, following strategies set by the Character Supervisor.Create additional models during character development, working closely with VFX Supervisor, Character Supervisor, Character Designer, Rigging Supervisor, and Animation Directors.Collaborate with the Lead Character Artist and Art Director to develop character goals and assets that meet visual design requirements.Work with Animation and Rigging teams to align results with the Art Director’s vision.Stay updated on current artistic methodologies, technology trends, and tools to enhance creative and technical development.Support, guide, and instruct team members to foster their artistic and professional growth.Follow guidance from supervisors and leads.Requirements:
5+ years in VFX or animation industries.3+ years in the animation industry.Proficiency in Maya, UVs, shading, and polygon distribution.Knowledge of ZBrush or Modo for character sculpting.Strong artistic and/or technical aptitude related to 3D animation.Good understanding of facial construction and proportions.High level of English desirable.Spanish language skills are a plus.About Skydance
