Senior Legal Technology Specialist
Summary of the Role:
The Legal Technology Specialist plays a pivotal role within the LEG team, focusing on the adoption, effective use, and support of Legal Technologies across LEG and the wider organization. With a specific emphasis on contract lifecycle management, custom developments and artificial intelligence applications, the specialist is tasked with implementing and executing solutions that streamline LEG's operations, enhance efficiencies, and support risk management. After receiving training in broad spectrum of the legal technologies and development environments use at Amadeus, the incumbent will embark on a journey to become the resident expert in one or more of these technologies, providing much-needed support and guidance to team members and promoting a culture of innovation and knowledge sharing. The ultimate goal of this role is to facilitate LEG's seamless and proficient use of existing and emergent legal technologies, thereby improving the quality of LEG's services, aligning LEG's technology efforts with the broader organizational goals, and ensuring LEG's successful technological transformation.
In this role you will:
1. Analyze functional design/ detailed business requirements for internal solutions and propose alternative or improved technical solutions as necessary
2. Review detailed impact analysis on existing processes and tools and propose solution alternatives as necessary
3. Propose viable technical requirement in line with high level design/technical architecture
4. Design technical solutions and develop or customize software, according to Amadeus Standards
5. Conduct unit tests of the software and ensure a level of quality in line with the Amadeus guidelines
6. Optimize the code as needed based on the results of the Integration and performance/stressed tests of the software
7. Support the validation phase of the product cycle by ensuring the fine-tuning necessary to finalize the product
8. Produce technical software documentation necessary for the application and issue it to the requesting departments
9. Perform technical support (customer/production) by debugging existing software solutions when requests are received from second level support
10. Propose enhancements to avoid failure and improve performance
About the ideal candidate
To succeed in your new role, you’re required to have relevant experience in the following areas:
11. 5 years practical experience in IT, computer engineering and/or solutions engineering; or
12. 5 years practical experience in technical process/solution design in a law related field; or
13. 5 years practical experience in digital contracting, or contract lifecycle management; or
14. A combination of the above in total of 5 years
15. Degree or comparable qualification
16. Education in law or public policy
17. General IT and computing knowledge to support IT solutions
18. Either advanced knowledge in:
- ‘Low-Code' programming environments (e.g.: MS PL-100 or equivalent); or
- Knowledge in automation or middleware solutions (e.g.: MS PowerAutomate, Zapier, Boomi, BRYTER, Tray.io, etc.)
19. Legal Technologies, such as digital contracting platforms, eSignature and matter management
20. Basic knowledge about consuming REST APIs and authentication flows
21. C1 English or equivalent required
Would be considered a plus:
22. Microsoft Azure knowledge
23. ‘High-level programming languages’ (e.g.: Python)
24. Other languages, such as in particular Spanish or French
Business understanding
25. Good understanding of inhouse Legal Department operational models, workplace dynamics and delivery processes
26. Good understanding of legal processes, commercial contracting and principals of law
27. Target-driven, ability to develop a sound technology business case and track the same through to deliver return on investment
28. Proactiveness and service mentality
29. A basic understanding of data protection principles
30. Ability to interact effectively with stakeholders from all organizational levels
31. Ability to work independently and as a team
