In this position you will…
…report into the Senior Manager, Accounting & Finance and be part of the team responsible for the financial reporting of our two Austrian entities and one Swedish branch, ensuring compliance with both local statutory requirements and group accounting standards. You will be working with Oracle & collaborating with our outsourced business services partner. You will be collecting, analysing, and presenting financial data, performing reconciliations, and reporting.
You will be responsible for:
* Supporting the full cycle of the financial close process of 3 legal entities (2 in Austria and 1 in Sweden) and the full consolidated financial statements and ad hoc reports as required.
* Reviewing supplier invoices and advise external teams on accounting of these.
* Reviewing accounts and trial balances and perform accruals and journals.
* Performing account reconciliations and review those done by external teams.
* Liaising with the group finance teams on accounting-related queries and/or reports submission.
* Working with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at the year-end.
* Ensuring that management and financial reporting can be fully reconciled, and any variances explained.
* Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies, and principles in accordance with local and international framework / standards.
For you to be successful:
* A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a recognised accounting qualification with strong IFRS knowledge is required.
* Strong analytical abilities paired with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
* A critical‑thinking mindset and solid problem‑solving capabilities are demonstrated in previous roles.
* Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are expected.
* Strong time‑management skills and comfort working under month‑end close deadlines are key to success in this role.
* A continuous‑improvement mindset, with a proactive approach to suggesting and implementing process enhancements, is highly valued.
* Success in fast‑paced, dynamic environments that require effective multi‑tasking is important.
* High proficiency in Excel is required.
* Experience with Oracle Financials and Power BI is considered a plus.
You will require the following qualifications and skills:
* Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
* Experience with creating financial statements.
* Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process.
* Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
* Experience in insurance industry/fintech a plus.
* Experience with finance transformation projects a plus for project set-up.
* Experience with a start-up environment a plus.
