Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a fast-paced technology company and a leader in the world of data centers. AWS is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a Senior Manager to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team.
The Senior Manager is one of our most senior management roles in the data center environment. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a large organization, managing department heads who own data center facility infrastructure including the operational availability of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. The pace, scale, and growth of Amazon's data center platform will challenge you. The ideal candidate for this role will understand data center IT infrastructure, data center facilities infrastructure and understand how the two coexist.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. Key job responsibilities
- Drive safety culture and security initiatives across multiple data center facilities
- Develop and implement operational strategies that align with AWS's global standards while addressing cluster requirements
- Oversee capacity planning, delivery, and growth strategies to meet customer demand
- Direct engineering operations across multiple data centers
- Manage complex multi-stakeholder coordination requirements with internal teams, vendors, and local authorities
- Champion inclusion, diversity, and equity initiatives within the regional organization
- Implement sustainability programs and ensure environmental compliance across all facilities
- Oversee financial performance, budget planning, and cost optimization initiatives
- Drive continuous improvement in operational metrics, efficiency, and service delivery
- Hiring, managing, and developing the operations management team
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations including systems such as feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, air handling units, and CRAC units
- Experience hiring, developing, and managing high-performing technical teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with large-scale technical operations or large-scale compute farms
- Experience managing large teams across multiple locations and languages, or experience as an acting operations manager
- Experience working in a data center or mission critical facility (example: hospital, military facility, public safety facility, etc.)
