Who We're Looking For
A Degree level Life Sciences background or equivalent in a science related discipline. Further business qualification or experience an advantage eg MBA, Post Grad Diploma.
Experience in sales and management roles in the chemical industry.
A proven professional and personal capability to deliver results through others.
High ethical standards, challenging others and current practices.
Consistent in approach towards people and issues, capable of disconnecting from conflicting personal and professional issues to make the correct decision.
Skilled in leadership and strategy development.

Knowledge of the Chemical market in Spain and Portugal is highly desirable.
Proficiency in MS Office as well as in Spanish and English, both oral and written, are a must. Knowledge of Catalan and/or Portuguese is a plus.
What You'll Be Doing
The Managing Director is the most senior position within the business unit/division, providing leadership and strategic direction (3-5 years) at both a divisional level and on a global basis where relevant.
Provides critical focus on business P&L, as well as management direction in relation to the development of sales revenues and control of divisional costs.
Accountable for all operational aspects of the business unit. Appropriate CSR and SHE management is a critical aspect of the role to ensure, at minimum, consistency with group standards. It is important that the individual understands the capabilities and limitations of the senior management team to ensure the business operates effectively and is developed for the future.
Within the scope provided by the Croda International Executive the role provides broader strategy input into business direction and activity including structure, operation, alliances and M&A opportunities.
Ensure that appropriately skilled personnel are employed within the organisation (sales, customer service, etc) to satisfy current and future needs, as well as ensuring succession and coaching is provided to deliver/maintain the correct organisational structure.
Responsible for influencing organisational culture and for monitoring developments and best practice in the external environment which could be implemented to improve business operation.
A key responsibility for the development of the future leaders of Croda.
The role has a high level of authority, accountability and opportunity for key business decision making including the management and minimisation of risk and assurance of legal compliance. Additionally the role defines and agrees appropriate remuneration and reward for divisional employees which are then ratified by the Executive President.
Influence, coach and develop at all levels within the organisation and to operate across business units as required. Additionally challenge individuals to exhibit exceptional performance, monitor progress and plan for the future.
