Position Overview
The Senior Underwriter collaborates with Account Management and Business Development teams to build and maintain broker relationships, aiming for profitable growth. The role focuses on transforming broker relationships into trading partnerships, securing profitable renewals, and generating new business within strategy and risk appetite.
Key Responsibilities
1. Review complex cases and articulate propositions clearly to deliver timely underwriting decisions, identifying and securing profitable new accounts.
2. Collaborate with Account Managers to develop business plans that identify new opportunities and align team efforts.
3. Manage and develop a portfolio to maximize revenue from new and renewal business, reviewing existing accounts and following up on new cases.
4. Utilize all relevant information sources to meet broker and client needs, building long-term relationships to generate and close new, up-sell, and cross-sell opportunities.
5. Negotiate and communicate underwriting decisions following agreed processes and regulatory requirements.
6. Work with colleagues to resolve broker and client complaints promptly, maintaining strong relationships.
