As a Design System Designer at North, you’ll play a key role in building, evolving, and maintaining scalable design systems. You’ll work closely with designers, product managers, and developers to ensure consistency, efficiency, and high-quality user experiences. We’re looking for someone who cares deeply about structure, scalability, and craft, and who enjoys creating the foundations that enable teams to design better and faster.
As a Design System Designer at North, you will…
* Lead the creation, documentation, and evolution of design systems.
* Define and maintain UI components, patterns, and guidelines to ensure consistency and scalability.
* Collaborate closely with developers to ensure seamless implementation of the design system.
* Audit and improve existing design systems, identifying gaps and opportunities.
* Advocate for design system adoption and best practices.
* Create and maintain libraries in Figma, ensuring they are structured, usable, and up to date.
* Balance system thinking with product needs, enabling flexibility without compromising consistency.
Ideally, you’ll bring…
* 3+ years of experience in digital product design, with a strong focus on design systems.
* Proven experience creating or maintaining design systems in real-world products.
* Deep understanding of UI design, components, tokens, and scalable systems.
* Strong proficiency in Figma (libraries, variables, auto layout, etc.).
* Experience collaborating with developers and understanding of front-end constraints (HTML/CSS basics is a plus).
* Strong attention to detail and obsession with consistency and quality.
* Clear communication skills (Spanish) and ability to document and explain system decisions.
* A structured, systems-thinking mindset combined with a pragmatic approach.
