Job Description:
Unit Support SpecialistProvides front office support for the hospital department.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Demonstrates the ability to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the position
- Demonstrates the ability to operate applicable office equipment
- Exhibits the ability to deal effectively interdepartmentally & with the public; excellent telephone skills
- Exhibits the ability to maintain confidentiality, think and act independently with minimal supervision
- Demonstrates effective response to patient crisis/ emergency situations
- Strong priority-setting and organizational skills
- Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location
- Basic administrative skills
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES
- Ability to read, write legibly, and converse effectively in the English language
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completion of basic medical terminology class preferred
EXPERIENCE
- One (1) year clerical experience in hospital or medical front office preferred
