IMDEA Energy is opening a Postdoctoral Researcher Position for the Electrochemical Processes Unit looking for talented and motivated candidates, to work on research and development of electrochemical energy storage devices for forward operating bases.
The selected postdoctoral researcher shall develop R&D activities in the field of batteries for microgrid applications. Such activities will involve at least
Tasks Description:
Testing of battery cells and/or modules in controlled environment.
Development of models to diagnose and predict battery performance and ageing.
Participation in national and international research projects related with energy storage and its integration in microgrids of forward operating bases.
Communicate and disseminate research results through high-quality scientific channels, including high impact scientific publications, presentations in conferences, etc.
Supervision of undergraduate and graduate staff working in the R&D unit.
Requirements
Compulsory Requirements:
A PhD title in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Applied Physics, Physical Chemistry, Chemistry or related disciplines.
Experience in preparation and characterization of materials and/or components for electrochemical energy storage devices.
Other merits to value:
Solid R&D background in batteries or other electrochemical storage devices: materials synthesis and characterization, components manufacturing, cell prototyping and testing.
International R&D experience.
Remarkable track record of scientific publications.
Oral and written communication skills in English.
