Job Purpose
Reporting to the Head of Vendor Management – Airports and Indirects, the Vendor Manager is responsible for strategic supplier management, cost optimization, and risk mitigation across Indirect categories. This role involves developing and executing category strategies, conducting sourcing and contract negotiations, and ensuring supplier performance aligns with Vueling’s operational and financial goals.
The role requires collaboration with internal stakeholders and IAG GBS Procurement to drive procurement excellence, enhance supplier innovation, and ensure compliance with SLAs and rebate agreements. Additionally, the role supports transformation and efficiency initiatives, identifying opportunities for process improvement, cost savings, and value creation.
Main Accountabilities
* Support the Head of Vendor Management in executing cost and performance optimization projects.
* Develop and implement Category Management Strategies for Indirect Categories, ensuring stakeholder alignment.
* Conduct market research, industry analysis, and strategic planning.
* Drive cost-saving initiatives within set timeframes and budgets.
* Identify make-or-buy opportunities for cost efficiency.
* Lead negotiation strategies and oversee contract lifecycle management.
* Manage sourcing, RFx processes, and contract negotiations with IAG GBS.
* Monitor supplier obligations, performance, and compliance, addressing claims and risks.
* Report on cost savings, risks, and supplier performance to leadership.
* Present contract recommendations to senior management.
* Establish continuous improvement plans and R&D collaborations with suppliers.
* Coordinate sourcing initiatives and track savings, providing reports and business cases.
Team Management
Manage teams to meet career and organizational goals.
Area Budget and Cost Management
Manage the budget with a focus on costs.
Project Management
Ensure timely and quality development of assigned projects.
Key Relationships
Interact with Business Unit Directors, Finance, Legal, and IAG GBS Procurement, as well as suppliers across categories.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or Master’s in Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related.
* Additional certifications (e.g., CIPS, PMP, Prince2) are a plus.
Experience
* At least 3 years in procurement, vendor, or category management, preferably in aviation.
* Proven negotiation, relationship management, and cost optimization skills.
* Experience in international, cross-functional environments, ideally within large groups like IAG.
* Knowledge of aviation regulations, SAP, Icertis, or similar systems is desirable.
Skills
* Strong analytical, negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
* Ability to influence cross-functional interests, work in teams, and manage time effectively.
* Adaptability, autonomy, and initiative are essential.
Languages
Spanish C1 level required.
