Role Overview
We are seeking a highly knowledgeable and passionate
Sommelier / Wine Specialist
to join our Ibiza-based team. This individual will be the face of Echezo's wine expertise—responsible for curating the wine selection, building strong relationships with wineries, and guiding clients through bespoke tastings, private collection building, and exclusive events.
Key Responsibilities
* Wine Curation & Procurement
* Select, source, and maintain Echezo's wine list and cellar with a focus on Burgundy, Champagne, and rare international wines.
* Build and manage relationships with partner wineries, distributors, and private suppliers.
* Oversee wine storage, stock rotation, and cellar management.
* Client Engagement & Advisory
* Provide tailored recommendations for private collectors and clients seeking rare or investment-grade wines.
* Lead in-store wine consultations, creating memorable experiences for discerning clientele.
* Organize and host private dinners, masterclasses, and thematic tastings (approx. 2 per month).
* Events & Partnerships
* Curate and present exclusive events around key wine regions, grape varieties, or partner wineries.
* Collaborate with Echezo management to develop creative concepts that elevate the Echezo brand.
* Operational Excellence
* Ensure wine service standards reflect Echezo's luxury positioning.
* Keep up-to-date with market trends, emerging wineries, and investment opportunities.
* Maintain accurate records of client preferences, purchases, and event participation.
Requirements
* Certified Sommelier (Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET Diploma, or equivalent).
* Strong knowledge of Burgundy, Champagne, and fine European and international wines.
* Proven experience in luxury hospitality, high-end retail, or fine dining environments.
* Excellent communication and storytelling skills to engage an international clientele.
* Fluent in English (mandatory); Spanish highly desirable.
* Based in or willing to relocate to Ibiza, Spain
