Position: Plant Controller
Reports to: Director Finance – Global Operations
Region: EMEA
Location: Madrid, Spain (Plant) EMEA
Position Overview
The Plant Controller is part of the plant leadership team, providing financial guidance and taking charge of management and financial reporting, as well as business planning in line with company policies.
This role directs the plant team on financial matters and offers recommendations for improving site performance.
Responsibilities
Manage manufacturing accounting, financial reporting, and variance analysis to accurately reflect plant performance.
Skilled in manufacturing ERP (MS Dynamics 365), maintaining data accuracy at every stage, and overseeing system upgrades.
Assist with year-end audits, both external and internal.
Develop and manage the annual budget and quarterly forecast in coordination with plant management and corporate finance.
Calculate standard cost per item during budget cycle and for new products during the year.
Fixed Asset Register co‐owner at the manufacturing site.
Analyze inventory regularly and help minimize excess and obsolete stock.
Prepare business cases for capital expenditure.
Finance Business Partner supporting the Plant General Manager and Management with efficiency improvements, cost reductions, risk analysis, and interpreting financial results and KPIs.
Collaborate with regional management to lower working capital, especially by cutting inventory, bad stock, and obsolete items.
Deliver all month‐end regional and corporate reports on time and accurately.
Review general ledger accounts and ensure all balances are cleared in a timely manner.
Adhere to all established corporate policies.
Requirements
Bachelor's / master's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field.
5‐7 years' experience in a similar role.
Languages: Fluent in English and Spanish.
Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial modeling tools.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and as a team member.
Experience with ERP systems and Business intelligence tools. MS Dynamics 365 is a plus.
Good planning and organizational skills.
Experience in handling multiple concurrent tasks and meeting strict deadlines for month close, forecasting and budgeting cycles.
Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries from the business.
