Job description
We are looking for a passionate and skilled PostgreSQL/AlloyDB Database Expert to join our dynamic DevOps team. You will play a key role in delivering Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) solutions for the Magenta TV platform, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of business-critical systems.
Tech stack & tools
* Databases: PostgreSQL, AlloyDB
* Cloud: Google Cloud Platform (IAM, DMS, VPC, Monitoring & Logging)
* Infrastructure: Terraform (IaC), Kubernetes
* Security & backup: Cloud-native solutions for backup, restore, and disaster recovery
Your responsibilities
* Operation, monitoring and optimisation of PostgreSQL and AlloyDB databases
* Setting up, maintaining and further developing backup, recovery and disaster recovery strategies
* Performance analysis, tuning and capacity planning
* Automation of recurring operational and administrative tasks (e.g. monitoring, provisioning, patching)
* Ensuring data integrity, security and availability
* Supporting development projects in database design, query optimisation and deployment processes
* Incident, problem and change management within the ITIL process
* Creation and maintenance of technical documentation and operating manuals
* Participation in on-call duty in 24/7 operation: one week each month and a half
Qualifications
Skill requirements:
* Proven experience with PostgreSQL and AlloyDB in production environments.
* Strong knowledge of Google Cloud tools and services.
* Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud monitoring/logging.
* Fluent English (minimum B1 level).
* Experience working in agile and DevOps teams.
* Monitoring:
o Prometheus knowledge.
o Google monitoring tools, Grafana, will appreciate.
* Willingness to participate in on-call duty.
