About BSC
The Barcelona Supercomputing Center - Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) is the leading supercomputing center in Spain. It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe. BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D in computer and computational science and has over 1000 staff from 60 countries.
Context and Mission
The mission of the Computer Applications in Science and Engineering (CASE) Department within BSC is to develop computational tools for simulating complex flow problems on massively parallel supercomputers. CASE develops the fluid software SOD2D, deployed on a variety of HPC systems. The Large-Scale CFD Simulation group focuses on numerical tools, turbulence models, multi-physics algorithms, data driven methods and large-scale industrial simulations. Main collaborations and projects focus on aeronautics, automotive, wind energy and urban pollution prediction. The candidate will join the LS/CFD team to develop high-speed simulation of rotorcraft flows using SOD2D.
