Senior Backend Developer - Node.Js

A fast-growing global consumer technology company is looking for a Senior Node.Js Backend Developer to join its international engineering team. The organisation builds innovative real-time digital products used daily by millions of users worldwide. Their platform focuses on creativity, self-expression, and enhancing online communication experiences through advanced audio technology.
The Role
As a Senior Backend Developer, you will take ownership of server-side architecture, backend services, and data infrastructure while working closely with DevOps and product teams to scale systems globally. You’ll play a key role in designing performant, secure, and scalable backend solutions supporting real-time user interactions. Their tech stack includes:
* Node.Js (Express)
* MongoDB
* Redis
* Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
* Kubernetes
* Docker
* GitLab / CI/CD
Responsibilities:
* Build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
* Collaborate with product and engineering teams to design new features
* Optimise services for performance, scalability, and reliability
* Implement security and data protection best practices
* Design and manage data storage solutions
* Develop reusable backend components and libraries
* Contribute to testing strategies including unit and E2E testing
Requirements:
* 5+ years’ experience as a Backend Developer
* Strong experience building and consuming REST APIs
* Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
* Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
* Solid understanding of TDD, SOLID principles, and software design practices
* Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and CI/CD workflows
* Experience monitoring and optimising system performance
* At least B2 level English language skills
