Logistics Specialist Internship, Data Center Operations

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is growing rapidly, and we are looking for Logistics Specialist Interns to join our Data Centre team. This hands‑on role will support our procurement and supply chain operations. Work prioritization, organisational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to being successful.
As an intern, you will participate in our six‑month internship program in our Cape Town area Data Centres.
Duties & Responsibilities
You will have the opportunity to join a creative, dynamic team of Logistics Specialists, dedicated to providing our customers with a world‑class customer service. Be a part of operating the world’s largest cloud computing infrastructure.
* Monitor inventory levels to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained
* Receive parts, maintain inventory, and check‑out parts
* Load and unload shipments and transport parts between different locations
* Maintain precise records of all commodities going in and out of the company
Amazon internships are full‑time (40 hours/week) for six months, starting in March 2026. This position requires the intern to report to work onsite on a daily basis. Intern schedules are typically day schedules, Monday‑Friday. A full‑time position could involve day, evening, or weekend shifts and on‑call rotations.

* Qualification must be from an accredited institution of higher education. Must have completed a higher education qualification in a related field (minimum NQF level 4‑6 qualification)

Key Job Responsibilities
* Manual tasks such as assembling, addressing, stamping, and arranging for the shipment of merchandise and materials
* Assist in daily scheduling of deliveries and pick‑ups to and from production locations
* In handling incoming shipments, unpack boxes and verify contents
* Maintain precise records of all commodities going in and out of the company
* Regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds unassisted; and participate in group lifts for 36 pounds or more
* Must be able to lift loads of up to 49 pounds and carry them for short distances
* Continuously climb and descend stairs safely (applies to sites with stairs)
* Reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance
* Push or pull heavy objects into position
Basic Qualifications
* Graduated from a technical/bachelor’s degree within a relevant technical field such as supply chain, logistics or similar
* English language proficiency, both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications
* Customer service experience
* Ability to manage work and priorities through a ticketing system and coordination with manager
