JUNIOR SPACE SATELLITE OPERATIONS ENGINEER
Join our team and build the future of space technology
We are expanding our team at Alén Space and are looking for a Junior Space Satellite Operations Engineer with a passion for what you do, talented and experienced, to lead our Mission Control Center team and help build the future of space technology.
Responsibilities include:
* Monitoring and operations planning for in-orbit LEO satellites and payloads.
* Design and preparation of operations for various missions.
* Preparation of procedures and sequences for satellite platforms and payloads.
* Telemetry analysis to monitor the health of constellations, satellites, payloads, etc.
* Preparation and execution of LEOP (Launch and Early Orbit Phase) and commissioning campaigns.
* Routine and contingency operations.
* Support for final on-ground testing of satellites.
* Collaboration with the software team to develop and test new tools.
* Evolution of satellite operation manuals and procedures.
* Collaboration with the systems engineering team for new mission design and platform evolution.
* Interaction with customers and stakeholders such as launch providers and ground station networks.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Telecommunication, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.
* Knowledge of spacecraft architecture and subsystems.
* Experience in LEO small satellite operations, design, and AIV.
* Knowledge of STK (Systems Tool Kit).
* Experience with Python or other scripting languages.
* Ability to work calmly under pressure.
* Methodical and procedure-oriented.
Valuable skills:
* Experience with cubesat platforms/subsystems.
* Knowledge of ECSS Packet Utilization Standard services.
* Understanding of ECSS and CCSDS standards.
* Experience with ground stations and networks.
* Hands-on experience in real-time operations and planning.
