Job Purpose
This role involves performing routine, preventive, and emergency repairs on manufacturing and packaging equipment, buildings, grounds, and laboratories to ensure the timely delivery of quality products. It also aims to protect Akzo Nobel’s investments in its facilities and grounds.
Key Responsibilities
* Utilize the Computerized Maintenance System to plan, prioritize, and report on work requests and preventive maintenance tasks. Record all work activities daily to support the work order system.
* Analyze mechanical issues on assigned equipment, plan corrective actions, and perform necessary repairs and adjustments to maximize production efficiency and quality.
* Test equipment after repairs or installations, notify relevant personnel of operational status, and assist with new equipment installations as needed.
* Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance by inspecting, lubricating, testing safety features, measuring with gauges, recording critical data, and reporting adverse findings to the Maintenance Manager.
* Identify potential problems to maximize equipment uptime by repairing immediately or scheduling repairs to prevent breakdowns.
* Assist with inventory management, maintain a clean and organized storeroom, and comply with all HSE policies. Report safety concerns, attend safety meetings, and ensure a safe work environment for all.
Job Requirements
* Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in engineering, vocational/military training, or 4-5 years related experience.
* Valid driver’s license.
* Ability to lift at least 55 pounds, stand or walk for extended periods, and work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
* Proficiency with hand tools, measuring devices, power tools, and test equipment.
* Ability to perform electrical and mechanical repairs, diagnose PLC and process control issues, and work overtime as needed.
