The Knot Worldwide is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the Director of Sales for our French Market. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of Sales Leaders, selling into small and medium-sized local businesses within the wedding industry across the country. You will be responsible for developing and executing a playbook focused on meeting and exceeding new business goals, accurately forecasting and committing to monthly performance, coaching and developing future leaders, and collaborating cross-functionally with Operations, Marketing, and Product teams. At your core, you should value accountability and people development, bringing a metrics-based, performance, and data-driven mindset to your work.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
* Team Leadership and Development :
Mentor and coach managers and team leaders, overseeing an indirect team of 60+ people.
Implement and drive sales processes leveraging operational sales experience.
Foster a high-performance culture through motivation, empowerment, continuous learning, recognition, and performance excellence.
* Client and Revenue Management :
Manage the sales pipeline using CRM tools, communicate revenue projections to finance and executive teams.
Use deep consultative sales skills to demonstrate the company's value proposition, driving revenue across categories.
Own client relationships, cultivate new revenue opportunities, and nurture long-term partnerships.
Leverage existing client and agency relationships to secure large, long-term deals and generate new ones.
* Market Strategy and Insights :
Identify and cultivate new revenue opportunities with new and existing clients.
Analyze market trends, team performance, and client feedback to develop data-driven sales strategies.
Communicate industry opportunities to management and lead initiatives for market positioning.
Enhance the company's image and employer branding in France to attract top talent.
* Cross-Department Collaboration and Product Development :
Represent the sales organization in meetings, articulating needs and goals.
Collaborate with the Product team to shape product development based on client needs.
Strengthen communication with marketing, operations, and other departments to optimize offerings.
* Diversity, Inclusion, and Adaptability :
Promote diversity and inclusion within sales teams.
Proactively address challenges to ensure business continuity during changing conditions.
* Strategic Presentations and Branding :
Guide the creation of persuasive presentations demonstrating the company's value.
* Travel and Market Presence :
Conduct frequent trips to France to engage with teams and clients, strengthening relationships and understanding of the market.
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES HAVE :
* At least 7 years of experience in Sales, Business Development, and Account Management.
* Minimum of 4 years of people management experience, overseeing 30-50 people.
* Proven skills in managing remote teams and developing talent.
* Previous experience working with sales teams in France.
* Strong leadership and strategic skills.
* Professional proficiency in English (C1-C2) and native French language skills.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Ability to analyze complex problems and data for in-depth evaluation.
* Ability to thrive in fast-paced and evolving environments.
