2. Are you a driven and strategic professional with a passion for procurement and supply chain excellence? We are looking for an experienced professional with English and German skills to join us in our Center in Sant Cugat del Valles.
3. This position secures our EMEA plants' needs and requirements for Subcontracting, Raw Material, and Coating based on global strategies, to achieve Kennametal's objectives in terms of Delivery, Quality, and Cost.
Key Job Responsibilities
1. Manage regional demand for our EMEA plants for Subcontracting, Raw Material, and Coating suppliers, including supplier performance and relationship management, total cost management, and strategy execution.
2. Be the key sourcing contact person for our EMEA factories for all direct Subcontracting processes in the region.
3. Collaborate with Global Category Management to align regional needs with the global strategy.
4. Source and onboard new suppliers in line with commodity strategy.
5. Manage regional projects in alignment with the Global Commodity Manager, lead commercial negotiations, and continuously seek ways to optimize procurement costs.
6. Cooperate with suppliers and internal stakeholders (local and global), build, and develop strong, mutually beneficial partnerships to fulfill procurement targets within cost optimization, increasing value, and contractual compliance.
7. Monitor overall QDC (Quality, Delivery, Cost) performance of the regional commodity and drive improvement actions as needed.
8. Lead annual Business Review Meetings with key suppliers, in alignment with the Global Commodity Manager.
9. Support Operations according to escalation processes. Act as a liaison between manufacturing sites and the Sourcing organization, ensuring alignment of sourcing and manufacturing strategies.
10. Partner with the Global Sourcing Functional Excellence Team and other functions to ensure deployment of best practices, tools, and procedures across the region, and proper execution of sourcing projects.
Education, Experience, and Skills
* Bachelor and/or Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or relevant field.
* Proven experience in strategic procurement, especially related to Direct Sourcing and production processes.
* Technical knowledge of the international environment, understanding of supplier markets, main cost drivers, technology trends, and risk factors.
* Motivated by leading negotiations; goal-oriented and proactive.
* Strong communication skills.
* Business acumen, entrepreneurial mindset, ability to set and prioritize goals.
* Ability to understand internal business processes, external market segments, and align strategies with stakeholders.
* Customer relationship management skills, understanding internal customer needs.
* Skilled in data management and analytics, capable of leveraging raw data for decision-making.
* Willingness to travel 20-50% across EMEA to suppliers and facilities.
* Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP S3 or S/4HANA.
* Excellent English and German communication skills.
