In this role, you will serve as the primary legal partner for our Spanish affiliate, acting as a trusted advisor across a broad range of legal matters. You will take ownership of legal activities in Spain, with a strong focus on public procurement and tender processes that are critical to enabling patient access to our therapies.
This is a highly autonomous, hands‑on role designed for a motivated legal professional eager to grow and expand their scope. You will work cross‑functionally with internal stakeholders and external advisors, with the opportunity to develop into a broader Iberia legal lead over time. The role combines operational execution (notably tender work) with strategic responsibility for the country’s legal landscape.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
* Lead and manage all public procurement and tender‑related legal matters, representing approximately 50–60% of the role, including documentation, timelines, and coordination with internal teams and external agencies
* Independently handle tender processes end‑to‑end, ensuring compliance with Spanish public procurement regulations and supporting successful market access
* Provide comprehensive legal support to the Spanish business across contracting, employment law, and general corporate matters
* Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including commercial, consulting, software, confidentiality, manufacturing, and distributor contracts
* Partner closely with HR on Spanish labor law matters and employee‑related topics
* Manage and coordinate external legal counsel and tender specialists
* Act as the primary legal point of contact for the affiliate, working cross‑functionally with internal stakeholders and supporting business growth initiatives
* Contribute to building legal capabilities in Spain, with the potential to expand scope to Iberia over time
ABOUT YOU
* Law degree in Spain
* 3–5 years of experience in a mid‑sized to large law firm or relevant in‑house environment
* Proven experience in public procurement law and public tenders, ideally with hospitals or regional authorities
* Solid knowledge of Spanish labor law and employment‑related matters
* Fluency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken
* Ability to work independently with a proactive, hands‑on mindset and strong sense of ownership
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in life sciences or medical device industry
* Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross‑functionally
* High level of motivation, curiosity, and desire to grow into broader responsibility
* Good judgment and adaptability in a dynamic, evolving environment
* Organized and detail‑oriented approach, particularly for documentation‑heavy tender processes
