In a world that’s ever-changing, we look to stay ahead and seek people who share our love of food and are _**_hungry to shape the future._**Descripción del empleo:**Location: Madrid,Spain****What your role is**- Reporting to the regional Senior Tax Manager, you will be the primary contact for internal and external indirect tax matters in EUAU countries, manage the review of indirect tax compliance, review and optimize indirect tax processes, implement indirect tax policies and execute General Mills’ indirect tax strategy. There will be one Senior Analyst role reporting into the Indirect Tax Manager role.- This position will be required to support the business in an evolving legislative environment and will require a high level of technical and soft skills to adapt and collaborate across geographical and functional boundaries.**Main Responsibilities**:- Manage and coordinate the review of indirect tax compliance (outsourced) and various VAT related accounting tasks (journal entries, reconciliations); assess and improve quality and policy adherence of all indirect tax requirements (documentation, invoicing, calculations) and Master Data.- Handle tax queries from business stakeholders and operational teams (Supply Chain, Logistics, Trade, SAP development teams,), act as the single point of contact for indirect taxes in the region.- Develop and execute indirect tax strategy and planning, manage the VAT aspects linked to global or regional business projects, manage indirect tax audits, consult on implementation of tax technology or automatic VAT reporting.- Assess the potential impact of indirect tax legislative changes and trends; provide updates to the business and Senior Manager Tax, EUAU; coordinate with relevant stakeholders to implement changes.- Manage VAT determination for new or changed trade lanes for goods sourced from or arriving in Europe, Australia and New Zealand and identify potential indirect tax implications and system improvements.- Maintain system configuration for tax determination. Lead implementation of system changes.- Monitor and ensure compliance with indirect tax requirements (e.G. transport documentation, contracts, and invoicing requirements), define documentation requirements and record keeping policy and set guidelines, policies and procedures for smooth implementation by business teams. Train relevant stakeholders (Business, Finance, SAP teams) on Indirect Tax requirements.**What you will bring to the team**- A Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Law, Accounting or Economics- Minimum 6 years of relevant in-house professional experience in regional indirect tax compliance; additional consulting experience in the VAT department of a leading international Accounting Firm preferred- A good knowledge of the (European) VAT law, as well as knowledge of finance and accounting are required, such as statutory accounting and corporate income tax compliance- Team player with project management capabilities, good IT and Excel skills. Experience with an ERP asset (SAP preferred)- Strategic thinker, dynamic, innovative with strong problem resolution and communication skills, both written and verbal- Collaboration within tax and with other teams (finance, legal, business) with the ability to explain complex issues in an easy and understandable manner to all levels of employees in organization and to develop in their knowledge of indirect tax.- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are required- Strong sense of responsibility and ownership, pro-activeness, ability to work independently and to introduce own ideas and process improvements- Fluency in English - written and spoken; additional European languages are a plus.
