Requirements Research Field Engineering » Aerospace engineering Education Level PhD or equivalent Skills/Qualifications
* Technical Background: PhD in engineering or applied mathematics.
* Required knowledge: Computational Fluid Dynamics.
* Skills: Aero/hydro-acoustic measurements (microphones or hydrophones) or finite elements and high order discontinuous Galerkin, excellent computational skills: Python, Fortran, HPC.
* Language skills: Fluent in English, Spanish is not required but advantageous.
Specific Requirements
We are looking for candidates with expertise in experimental aeroacoustics and/or computational methods for aeroacoustics (related to wind turbines).
Off-coustics is funded by the European Research Council (ERC) and will take place at the School of Aeronautics in Madrid (ETSIAE) – Univ. Politécnica de Madrid. Off-coustics combines numerical simulations and experiments to provide insights into the physics governing the aero/hydro-acoustic generation and propagation for offshore wind and tidal farms. Control of these physics will enable the design of silent offshore farms to minimise the impact on marine life.
