EFI is seeking a Global HSE Manager based in our production plant in Almazora, Castellón, Spain.
Job Description:
The Senior Environmental, Health and Safety Manager/Sr Manager is responsible for the HSE global team and the definition and execution of the HSE strategy for the company. The role involves implementing environmental health and safety policies on behalf of EFI and ensuring all procedures meet legal requirements. The manager will analyze existing and planned products, processes, equipment, and facilities to prevent injuries, property loss, and environmental impact.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Define and execute the HSE strategy for the company
* Manage the global HSE team
* Monitor compliance with health, safety, and environmental laws
* Continuously improve health, safety, and environmental management systems
* Disseminate information and documentation related to health, safety, and environment legislation
* Promote safety culture across all company levels
* Prepare documentation to comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations
* Draft risk assessments, emergency, and evacuation plans
* Update documentation to meet legal requirements
* Identify prevention and protection measures
* Conduct shop floor audits and ensure employee compliance with regulations and procedures
* Organize health, safety, and environmental training for employees
* Collaborate with external consultants for training and investigations
* Identify non-compliance issues and implement corrective actions
* Coordinate mandatory employee courses
* Maintain relations with occupational health providers and monitor medical examinations
* Verify compliance during the design of new stores or premises
* Work with authorities on insurance claims related to incidents
* Define KPIs for HSE performance
* Analyze safety indicators and implement improvements
* Develop procedures and manuals for safety and environmental protection
* Support international offices in compliance monitoring
* Prepare management reports on HSE performance and compliance
* Implement ergonomic analyses as needed
* Maintain relations with official bodies
* Manage relations with third-party HSE service providers
* Participate in ESG actions related to HSE
Job Requirements:
* Engineer or similar bachelor degree with Master in “Prevención en Riesgos Laborales” (mandatory)
* Additional courses in Ergonomics, Safety, and Health are desirable
* 3-5+ years of experience in a similar industry and global environment (mandatory)
* Knowledge of HSE regulations in Spain (mandatory);
experience in Italy, UK, Israel, Turkey, US is valuable
* Experience with chemical plants handling toxic components is valuable
* Excellent communication skills for cross-functional and cross-cultural environments (mandatory)
* Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and team leadership experience
