Our technology enables rail staff and operators to coordinate support more effectively across the rail network, reducing costs and improving reliability. /ppbr/ppToday, Transreport’s technology is deployed by more than 30 railway operators across Great Britain and Japan, and has supported over 10 million assistances and more than 1 million passengers globally. /ppbr/ppWe are a Series A company, recognised with the UK King’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation and as a finalist in the 2023 Apple Design Awards. /ppbr/ppbThe Opportunity /b /ppAs we expand into new European markets, we are hiring a Business Development Director (European Rail), to help lead that next stage of growth. /ppbr/ppEuropean rail is a complex and relationship-driven market, where opportunities must be built across operators, authorities, and institutions through long cycles, trusted networks, and formal procurement processes. /ppbr/ppThis is a senior, end-to-end commercial role for someone who can open doors, shape strategic opportunities, and convert them into commercial agreements in a fragmented, procurement-heavy environment. /ppbr/ppbWhat You Will Do /b /pulliIdentify and prioritise target operators, authorities, and institutions across Europe /liliDevelop a clear market-entry plan for priority markets, accounts, and stakeholders /liliBuild relationships from initial contact through to senior stakeholder level (Director / C-level) /liliInitiate and develop strategic conversations that lead to commercial opportunities /liliProgress opportunities through complex, multi-stakeholder environments, procurement processes, and policy contexts /liliLead deal structuring and negotiations through to signed agreements /liliUse your network, events, and direct outreach to generate access to decision-makers /liliPersonally lead opportunities from first engagement through to deal closure, working hands-on and with a high degree of autonomy throughout. /li /ulpbr/ppbWhat Success Looks Like /b /ppbr/ppbFirst 6 months /b /pulliClear prioritisation of target markets, accounts, and stakeholders /liliA practical market-entry plan in place for selected European markets /liliRelationships established with relevant stakeholders across selected markets /liliConsistent access to senior decision-makers /liliA pipeline of qualified commercial opportunities /li /ulpbr/ppbFirst 12 months /b /pulliStrong presence with senior stakeholders across multiple markets /liliActive participation in tenders and structured commercial discussions /liliOpportunities progressed through procurement and commercial processes, leading to signed contracts /liliTransreport recognised as a credible partner in target markets /li /ulpbr/ppbRequirements /b /ppbr/ppbMust have /b /pulliProven track record of selling into European rail organisations and navigating long-cycle commercial processes in regulated environments /liliProven experience with public procurement, tender processes, and how policy and institutional stakeholders influence buying decisions /liliProven track record of opening doors and engaging senior stakeholders (Director / C-level) /liliAn established network across European rail operators, authorities, institutions, or industry bodies /liliStrong understanding of who the buyers, influencers, and decision-makers are within rail organisations, including formal and informal decision-making structures /liliAbility to develop a clear commercial plan and execute it independently /liliStrong commercial judgement, communication, and stakeholder management skills /liliA hands-on approach, with the ability and willingness to do the work directly without a sales team around you /li /ulpbr/ppbNice to have /b /pulliExperience in rail accessibility, mobility, or passenger services /liliExperience working across multiple European markets /liliBackground in SaaS, infrastructure, or regulated industries /li /ulpbr/ppWe value impact over years of experience.
