As a Line Leader for O-I you will be responsible for managing the total operation of the line (defined as total production line) on a 24 hour / 7 day a week basis through the continuous shift operation to maximize production performance within established safety, quality and cost parameters.
A particular emphasis of the role is to facilitate a team culture across all functional and cross functional disciplines for the specific line. Through both formal and informal continuous improvement opportunities, implement and refine improvement ideas to maximize the performance of the line.
A Line Leader Will:
1. Ensure correct use of safety equipment and adherence to all safety procedures
2. Engage with multiple departments within the plant to assign resources to focus on all areas of the production line; i.e. safety, quality, furnace, machine repair, mold shop, general maintenance, forming, inspection, and packaging
3. Analyze data from the production line to identify improvement opportunities and to create effective improvement actions and projects
4. Motivate and engage with the production line employees to align on expectations and performance goals
5. Develop basic technical knowledge of the glass production process
6. Learn and adhere to customer quality requirements and expectations
7. Understand and apply local HR policies and union contracts
8. Work with shift supervisors to have consistency across different shifts
9. Assist in development, coaching, and training of production employees
10. Apply continuous improvement and lean manufacturing processes to elevate the production line performance
Requisitos
The Line Leader Should Have:
11. University Degree in Engineering.
12. Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in Production or Operations Management, Business, or other related disciplines
13. Minimum requirement of 1 year experience supervising/leading people and processes in a manufacturing environment, preferably Glass production.
14. Project Management and/or Lean Certification desired.
15. Significant understanding of Flow Manufacturing concepts that use Continuous Improvement and Kaizen events.
16. Computer literate w/ proficiency in Microsoft Office Products
17. Adequate knowledge of informational systems & ability to analyze data (i.e. SAP, WorkBrain, etc.).
18. Strategic thinker, with clear vision and direction of change management
19. Strong facilitation and interpersonal communication
20. Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
21. Proven ability to coach, mentor, and energize team members
