Reporting to the AXA International Markets General Counsel the successful candidate will join the dynamic legal team for AXA International Markets. The role involves providing strategic legal advice and support across various business units and jurisdictions spread over four continents. Whilst the focus of the work will be on corporate law, including MA and corporate governance, the candidate will need to provide legal support in several other areas and will need to be ready to assist on a wide variety of topics as business and legal needs demand from time to time.Main responsibilities:Provide comprehensive legal advice and support, with a strong emphasis on corporate matters such as transactions including MA, partnerships and joint ventures and corporate governanceDrafting and reviewing commercial contractsCollaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management and finance teams, on various legal issues at shareholder and entity levelProvide legal advice and co-ordinate relevant legal files to countries under AXA International Markets scopeAssist in the management of disputes and litigationReporting to AXA Group legal department when necessary, in particular on material litigations and corporate governance Offer general legal support across other areas as required, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to engage in diverse legal and business matters as they ariseSupport training and development initiatives for staff on legal mattersBackground and Experience: Qualified lawyer with 5 years of experience in an international law firm or large financial institutionExperience in Corporate and Commercial LawExperience in Mergers Acquisitions in an international context Technical and professional skills:Spanish qualified Corporate/Commercial lawyer of approx. 5 years of experience, registered as practicing with a Bar Association (although British and French qualified lawyers may also be considered) Having experience in a insurance/financial institution will be a plus but is not essential Knowledge of MA Time management skills and ability to meet challenging deadlinesExcellent skills in drafting and reportingFluent in English with any additional language being a plus, especially Spanish and French Relational skills:Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skillsDiscrete and reliable.
