The EMEA Energy and Water team is looking for a Water Infrastructure Manager to support scaling and growth across our Data Centre network. If you like to drive the development, implementation and construction of new water infrastructure, your work will help deliver large-scale water projects that our infrastructure needs to renewably and strategically operate.
This role is available in Madrid, Zaragoza, London, Frankfurt, and Dublin.
AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We keep the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to innovation. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing scalable capacity at the lowest possible cost. Key responsibilities
You will manage design consultants, contractual drafting, develop and document requirements, budgets, and project schedules
You will manage remote 3rd party project delivery teams from design through to construction, facilitate technical whiteboard sessions to troubleshoot project implementation issues, and remove barriers to project success
You will multitask and re-prioritize and effectively lead deliveries based on changing business needs
You will build and maintain the overall delivery program and project budget, submitting Capital Allocation Requests to Senior Leadership to secure finance for project delivery
You will prepare investment need/business case papers to secure internal funding for water reinforcement projects to secure water supply and discharges
A day in the life
Liaison with regulators and external stakeholders (water utilities, environmental agencies, health department, construction contractors, etc.)
Leverage project management tools and techniques for all phases of the project lifecycle
Regularly report to senior leadership on status of key project metrics
Ensure construction standards are followed and national construction regulations are complied with
Create detailed planning packs to build scalable and future-proof water infrastructure

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission-critical facilities (e.g., data centers, power generation, oil and gas)
Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities
Experience in commissioning
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer License
Experience with building codes and regulations for your region
Experience taking design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment
Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
