Role Overview
Bid Manager, part of the Construction Department, responsible for ensuring effective and competitive construction bids that meet customer expectations and tender specifications.
Responsibilities
* Manage the construction scope during the bid phase, ensuring alignment with tender specifications and customer requirements.
* Prepare, coordinate, and deliver the construction bid response, supporting contract negotiations and ensuring Vestas’ goals are fulfilled.
* Assess project scope, define strategies, and prepare tactical plans in coordination with internal stakeholders such as Project Management, Planning, Installation, BOP, Sales, Procurement, Transport, and Technology.
* Prepare project budgets and schedules, ensuring competitive cost structures and alignment with business constraints.
* Identify and evaluate major construction risks during the sales phase and ensure lessons learned are implemented.
* Support post‑ and pre‑calculation analysis to improve cost optimization and project profitability.
* Collaborate on the Contract Execution Package (CEP) approval process together with Sales Management and the Regional Head of Construction.
* Contribute to business improvement initiatives and the development of new construction processes to enhance competitiveness and create value for Vestas and its customers.
Qualifications
* Technical degree in Engineering, Construction, Logistics, or similar field.
* Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent).
* 5–8 years of experience in Project Management within the energy or construction sector (renewables experience highly valued).
* Demonstrated experience in bidding and contract negotiation.
* Extensive understanding of contract terms, cost structures, and project resources.
* Fluency in English and proficiency in Spanish. Portuguese is a plus.
* Proficient in MS Excel, databases, and Power BI.
* Working Safe certification or equivalent safety training.
