Due to recent growth and a strategic shift towards innovation in nonwovens and films, the company seeks a Carding Innovation Manager in Europe, preferably based in Italy, Spain, France, or Germany.
Job Summary :
As part of the Innovation & Product Development Hygiene & Healthcare nonwovens team, you will drive innovation by providing expertise in carded nonwovens design and manufacturing, with a focus on Air-Through-Bonded technology. Your role involves developing new products that meet customer needs, translating market trends and unmet needs into innovative solutions, and managing projects from business case to commercial launch. You will also maintain and lead technical relationships with key customers.
Short-term goals :
- Gather market and technical information related to carded nonwovens trends and unmet customer needs.
- Translate insights into new product developments.
- Strengthen technical partnerships with customers.
Mid-term goals :
- Drive growth through commercialization of innovative products, establishing the company as a leader in the field.
- Become the preferred technical partner for key customers in carded nonwovens solutions.
Requirements :
- Engineering degree (mechanical, chemical, or textile).
- Proven expertise in carded nonwovens design for hygiene applications.
- Experience in diaper design and materials is a plus.
- Potential to advance to Product Development Director.
- Excellent communication skills for interactions with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Creative, innovative, resilient, structured, proactive, and a team player.
- Strong observational, listening, and conceptual thinking skills.
- Curious, eager to learn, self-motivated, and comfortable with complexity.
Nice-to-haves :
- Fluency in English and Italian; French, Spanish, or Catalan is advantageous.
- Data-driven with familiarity in statistical tools.
- Location preference: Terno, Italy, or open to other European locations.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
Key Responsibilities :
- Own and develop customer technical relationships and growth plans with Key Account Managers.
- Provide technical support for new products and growth opportunities.
- Lead innovation and product development projects, ensuring timely and within-budget execution, and effective stakeholder communication.
- Follow Stage-Gate processes for new product development from initiation to commercialization.
- Identify new opportunities, gather market insights, and translate them into development projects to position the company as an innovation leader.
- Establish and maintain strong partnerships with key customers and internal stakeholders, including suppliers and research centers.
