As the Category Manager – Solar, you will join the Procurement team and create long‐term value and sustainability across all critical procurement activities. You will collaborate with business development, engineering & construction, operations & maintenance, and finance departments.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain the global category strategy for solar equipment, including PV modules, trackers, and inverters.
Pre‐qualify new suppliers, assess sustainability risks, and implement mitigation strategies for solar equipment and markets.
Manage strategic supplier relations, performance indicators, and commercial leveraging across regional procurement teams.
Collaborate with cross‐functional teams (engineering, finance, legal, etc.) to ensure aligned contract development and negotiation with appropriate terms and risk allocation.
Act as the category expert, advising project teams and management on critical procurement issues throughout the project execution phase.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or renewables.
7+ years of experience in Procurement & Supply Chain Management in the solar energy segment, ideally with an international background.
Fluency in English.
Customer orientation towards internal organisational units.
Strong understanding of and commitment to health and safety and sustainability principles and culture.
Strategic and commercial mindset with a proven track record of executing strategic initiatives.
Proven track record for procuring solar main equipment for large projects in geographies such as the US, South America (Chile), and Europe (Italy, Spain, Greece).
Excellent communication, listening, and negotiation skills.
Ability to drive continuous improvement and follow‐up on deliveries.
Advanced analytical skills.
Proficiency in Spanish or Italian is a plus.
