About UsAxiomatic AI is building a new class of AI systems designed to reason with the rigor of the scientific method. By combining deep learning with formal logic and physics‐based modeling, we create verifiable, interpretable AI systems that collaborate with and support human researchers in high‐stakes scientific and engineering workflows. Our mission, 30×30, is to deliver a 30× improvement in the speed, accessibility, and cost of semiconductor and photonic hardware development by 2030. We aim to revolutionize hardware design and simulation in these industries and are building a team of highly motivated professionals to bring these innovations from research into commercial products.
Position OverviewWe are looking for an AI/Agentic Systems Intern to support the development of intelligent workflows and evaluation infrastructure for Lemma, our scientific and engineering co‐explorer.
In this role, you will work on agent tool integrations, workflow orchestration, and benchmarking systems that help us build more reliable and capable AI agents. This internship is ideal for a candidate who wants hands‐on experience at the intersection of LLM applications, evaluation systems, and product‐oriented AI engineering. You will contribute directly to our goals around AI tooling adoption and Lemma integrations, while working closely with researchers and engineers on real‐world systems.
Your mission
Work on agent tool integrations and workflow orchestration for Lemma
Help build benchmarking, testing, and evaluation infrastructure for AI agents
Support experiments around tool use, agent performance, and workflow reliability
Contribute to engineering foundations that make agentic systems more robust, measurable, and deployable
Collaborate with researchers and engineers to translate early ideas into usable internal capabilities
Key Requirements
Currently pursuing a Master's degree preferred in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, NLP, Computer Science, or a related field
Strong proficiency in Python
Familiarity with LLMs and tool‐use patterns
Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a team environment
Comfort working in a dynamic, fast‐paced setting
Work Model & Location ExpectationsOn‐site. Candidates are expected to be based at our Barcelona, Boston or Toronto office.
Work Authorization. Candidates must have (or be able to obtain) work authorization in one of our office locations.
Relocation support. Axiomatic will support relocation by covering temporary housing and travel to/from the office location during the transition period.
Internship DetailsYou will work directly with and be mentored by a global team of multidisciplinary experts pushing the boundaries of AI‐assisted physics formalization.
