We are looking for a passionate and skilled Senior Guidewire Developer to join our dynamic Zurich Guidewire Team (ZGT). ZGT is a hub for innovation, expertise development, and service delivery, supporting the Guidewire platform and related tech-stack globally within Zurich. This team focuses on developing & delivering digital capabilities, core platform solutions, integrating AI, and building reusable assets & components – both on-prem and Guidewire cloud versions. We operate from multiple technology delivery centres spread globally to service our business units.
This position is based in Barcelona Technology Delivery Center (TDC). Established in Barcelona in 2006, the TDC operates as an integral part of Zurich Insurance Group, providing cutting-edge technological solutions and support to Zurich's local and global business units.

What Can You Expect?
As a Senior Guidewire Developer, you will:
* Lead the design, development, and implementation of Guidewire products - InsuranceSuite (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter), Digital platforms (Engage and Jutro), and related integrations.
* Analyze and propose solutions leveraging out-of-the-box (OOTB) Guidewire modules, with recommended customizations where necessary.
* Translate business requirements into technical specifications and innovative solutions.
* Partner with Business Systems Analysts & Product Owners, compare solutions, provide inputs for cost/benefit analysis, risk assessments, and scope definitions for proposed enhancements and work products.
* Develop integration interfaces using Guidewire APIs, web services, and third-party tools.
* Support end-to-end development lifecycle;
story grooming, sprint testing, coordinating with other development teams, QA, and Release Management teams.
* Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership to project teams.
* Ensure best practices in coding, testing, and deployment for robust, scalable applications, adhering to Guidewire cloud standards and Zurich architectural guidelines.
* Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing Guidewire solutions.
* Collaborate with architects to ensure architectural alignment & fitment of solutions while meeting business objectives and compliance standards.
* Evaluate project impacts to various departments through consultations with different teams.
* Participate in Agile ceremonies such as inception workshops, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives.
* Promote building reusable assets and components for other business units.
Qualifications
Required:
* Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Engineering, with 5+ years of experience in Information Technology.
* High School Diploma or equivalent with 10+ years of experience in IT.
* 5+ years of experience with Guidewire platforms (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter) / ACE Certification.
* Strong experience in Guidewire xCentres both on-premises and GWCP.
* Expertise in Guidewire Gosu programming, configuration, and integration.
* Experience with Java, web services (SOAP / REST), and database technologies.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, results-driven attitude.
* Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
* Guidewire Product Knowledge (Jutro, Advanced Product Designer, etc.).
* Ability to work collaboratively with global cross-functional teams and lead initiatives.
* Proactive, customer-focused mindset and commitment to delivering results.
Preferred:
* Guidewire certifications.
