The Legal Powerhouses are part of the legal function, providing structured legal services to support our business operations.
Team Structure:
* Part of the Unilever Legal Powerhouse, with colleagues in Bangalore, Mexico City, and Barcelona.
* Integral to Unilever’s global Legal Function, comprising approximately 600 lawyers and specialists.
* Providing legal support for MBS, Global Media, and UniOps portfolios, reporting to the GC in London.
Role Purpose:
Negotiate and draft complex outsourcing and services agreements with global media, IT, business services, and marketing suppliers. Influence suppliers to accept our standard templates or negotiate their templates to align with Unilever’s interests.
Collaborate directly with the GC for MBS, Global Media, and UniOps on negotiations and drafting. Assist in creating contract guidance, templates, and mapping processes to improve efficiency and support procurement and business partners.
Work closely with teams in procurement, tax, privacy, and cybersecurity to address business needs and risks.
Governance & Compliance:
* Support Unilever policies and processes for key suppliers.
* Assist in ongoing compliance activities.
* Identify deviations from standard clauses and assess risks.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date internal contract templates.
* Propose improvements to contract processes and implement changes.
Stakeholder Management:
* Develop and manage relationships within Unilever and with external parties, including Legal, Procurement, Finance, Media, and UniOps teams.

* Legal (including external counsel)

Key Skills & Experience:
* Legal professional qualification.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in contract drafting, review, and negotiation.
* Strong English legal drafting and advisory skills.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
* Ability to influence resources outside direct control.
* Attention to detail and process-oriented mindset.
* Ability to collaborate across multiple time zones and levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Understanding of procurement and supplier legal aspects.
* Experience with marketing/media contracts.
* Experience in consumer goods or retail sectors.
* Analysis skills and risk management in complex business environments.
