Mechanical Engineer & Mechanical Design Engineer (ME/MDE)
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer to join an innovative automotive project, leading and executing the complete mechanical development process—from architecture definition and requirements analysis to final design release.
The role ensures technical quality, industrial feasibility, and compliance with project timing and cost targets while collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering teams.
This position combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering work, covering CAD design, stack-up definition, documentation, simulations, and product release.
Implement customer and internal mechanical requirements before each Design Freeze.
Select appropriate components and materials according to project requirements.
Identify systemic issues and escalate technical risks to the relevant engineering leadership.
Mechanical Design & Implementation
Develop designs according to mechanical requirements, standards, and internal design guidelines.
Deliver mechanical design outputs including CAD models, drawings, simulations, and documentation on time.
Perform engineering analyses such as FEA, thermal simulations, sensitivity analysis, Monte Carlo analysis, gap analysis, and clearance/creepage analysis.
Provide mechanical and thermal input to hardware and PCB design teams.
Lead Mechanical Concept Reviews and participate in Technical Design Reviews.
Drive cost optimization and Design-to-Cost initiatives.
Support System DFMEA and cross-functional engineering activities.
Conduct feasibility studies, design investigations, and technical evaluations.
Prepare and approve drawings and engineering documentation for manufacturing release.
Participate in supplier workshops, benchmarking activities, and CAD library improvements.
Contribute to continuous improvement of design guidelines and engineering processes.
Support engineering change management processes (CR, CN, SCR, PCR).
Collaborate with laboratories for DV/PV testing.
Review test reports and initial samples.
Contribute to knowledge capture, documentation, and best practices within the engineering team.
Mechanical design and CAD tools (CATIA, NX or similar)
Mechanical stack-up design and tolerance analysis
CFD and FEA simulations
Prototyping and mechanical testing
Analytical engineering methods (sensitivity analysis, Monte Carlo)
Clearance and insulation analysis
Configuration management (SVN or similar)
Cost estimation and lean engineering principles
Technical documentation and drawing standards (DXF, engineering documentation)
