BOLD is committed to shaping the future of high-performance mobility from Formula 1 to aviation and marine. In our mission to deliver innovative and impactful products in the mobility sector, we are building the company whilst working with clients in exciting engineering and manufacturing challenges.
The Technical Project Lead for Battery Design will play an integral role in bringing our batteries through design and into full production and delivery. They will support a talented and growing team of battery designers through the project gateways of multiple high-value battery design projects, including analysis and verification of initial specifications.
What You Will Do
Develop Battery System Requirements with a Safety Focus
Define and develop high-voltage battery system requirements, with a particular emphasis on functional safety and compliance with international safety standards.
Lead the development of high- and low-voltage system architectures, ensuring that all safety-critical elements are addressed at both system and component levels.
Integrate safety considerations into the entire design process, including functional safety and hazard analysis, failure mode effects analysis (FMEA), and fault tree analysis (FTA).
System Design And Architecture
Oversee the development and validation of electro-thermal battery computational models to ensure that safety and performance requirements are met.
Define boundary conditions, input parameters, and interfaces for CAE activities, focusing on electrical, mechanical, and thermal integration.
Lead design reviews, safety analyses, and simulations to ensure that the system architecture meets all safety and performance criteria.
Cross-Functional Leadership And Mentorship
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a strong culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate closely with hardware, software, and mechanical teams to ensure seamless integration of safety-critical systems.
Act as a key technical leader in cross-functional project teams, driving technical decisions and ensuring that safety considerations are prioritized throughout the product lifecycle.
